Pastor Gayle Bach-Watson

Pastor Gayle was born in Dayton, Ohio but lived many different places until settling in Maryland in 1975. “I lived a rather nomadic existence during childhood and college. By 1981 I had had 24 addresses,” she said. She was educated at the University of Maine at Orono and at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She received a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology at George Mason in 1981.

Before attending seminary she worked in retail, as a dispatcher for a Maryland police force, as a registered customer service representative for a stock brokerage firm, and as an equine massage therapist, but eventually answered God’s call to ministry.

She attended Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., from 1995 to 1999, graduating with a Master’s of Divinity magna cum laude, with an award as one of the top students in Hebrew Scripture. She hopes to continue her education, pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership.

She has two daughters, Alexandra, who lives with her, and Jessica, an IT specialist who lives in Williamsport, Maryland. She lives in Knoxville, Maryland, where she is renovating a 116-year-old farm house.
